This decision is very unfortunate because it is based on any real and serious cause involving the detention of JP Bemba.
Yet, August 14, 2009, the Criminal Court had ordered the provisional release of former Vice President of DRC. This ruling, supported and very very accurate, responded completely to the questions or concerns spokesmen of "alleged victims".
However, once the prosecutor had appealed the decision.
For now, JP Bemba is therefore forced to remain in custody.
One can only regret that the rights of defense are thus undermined. A provisional release, as correctly explained the decision of August 14, presented no danger to witnesses or risk of leakage from the Senator. A detention that nothing justifies recovery necessarily controversial aspects very "political" in this trial.
Anyway, JP Bemba remains very strong and sure of his right. He will face after the procedure with combativeness and serenity.
