Chargé d'Affaires of the United States welcomes the resumption of military cooperation between his country and the DRC

Kinshasa, 19/06 (ACP) .- The Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America in Kinshasa, Sam Brock, Friday welcomed the resumption of relations of military cooperation between U.S. and Congolese governments, on the occasion of signature between the two countries of a memorandum of understanding on the formation of the Quick Reaction Force of the FARDC.

"I am very pleased that these relations of military cooperation between the United States and the DRC are now renewed since the establishment of democracy in the DRC," said Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America Kinshasa, indicating that the training course starts next Monday and will be provided by U.S. military instructors at the Center for grouping of military schools.

According to him, the United States of America will pursue the same course in Kisangani in Orientale province in early August. This training will be preceded, he said, by arranging the camp barracks should accommodate an entire battalion.
The American diplomat said the signing of the technical agreement on military cooperation in response to a request of President Joseph Kabila made his U.S. counterpart during his last official visit to the United States in 2008. ACP
