DR Congo: Kinshasa hosts 3rd international conference on women

The third edition of the international conference on black women, which is a group of talented women who have come together to better participate in an emerging new Africa, will be held in Kinshasa 28 November - 4 December.

The parley will be held under the patronage of the Congolese President's wife, Mrs. Olive Lembe Kabila, said Mrs. Patricia Faraut, Ambassador of the Association "Africa's Outstanding Women", based in Paris, France.

According to Faraut, "the African woman on the continent will welcome and solemnly pay tribute, on this occasion, to the women of African origin deported to other horizons, four centuries ago, during the days of slavery".

The next round of the conference will examine the right contribution that could be made to help Africa rise again, which, according to her, is considered as the "base" for the unity of women who will shape Africa in the future.

Moreover the Kinshasa conference, has a significant importance for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

"We want to pay tribute to the plagued in the eastern part of the DRC, because now is the time for all the living forces to mobilise to help Goma women to regain strength," Faraut explained in a news release announcing the event.

Participants, in this regard, will take a trip to Goma, Northern-Kivu, in order to express their support for women who tremendously suffered from armed conflicts in eastern DRC.

Africa's Outstanding Women is an organization that works for the promotion, encouragement of women's business initiatives and fostering interactions between women living on the continent and their sisters in the Diaspora.

France hosted in 2007 and 2008 respectively the first edition of the international conference on black women and the second, whose goal was to reflect on how to set "the best strategies that could help promote women on the continent and those in the Diaspora."

Women ministers and female business executives took part in those editions to find ways and means of tapping business opportunities for women in Africa and the Diaspora.

During the Kinshasa conference, discussions will be held on the "integration of black women's resources, in a process of economic development and international cooperation".

In the meantime, the book exhibition in the feminine and the space of dedication for writers will be organised.

Prizes of African feminine excellence will be presented to women who head businesses and are famous on the continent, for their contribution to African and world economies.

Women who help their communities to fulfil their potentials in the areas of politics and social matters will be rewarded.
