KINSHASA, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Angola's ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Emilio Jose de Carvalho Guerra, has refuted claims that there is disagreement between Kinshasa and Luanda.
At a press conference held on Tuesday in the Congolese capital Kinshasa, the Angolan ambassador pointed out that there are good relations between the two neighboring countries, noting that Angola hopes the DRC regains peace for national reconstruction.
"Angola is convinced that once DRC will be peaceful, she will not have any worries," the Angolan diplomat told reporters.
On the issue of Congolese expelled from Angola, Guerra said his country acts in conformity with the principles and norms of the international law.
"No country which is truly organized will tolerate that any of its citizens, regardless of their origin, enters and dwells on its territory, least of all on what is considered as a strategic place and then starts to extract its raw materials, dealing in counterfeit money, buying drugs, buying arms, forgery of documents and participate in prostitution," he said.
He made reference to oil exploitation along the Muanda coastal strip and the violation of the borders between the two countries, which the diplomat said had been wrongly interpreted to mean disagreement.
These issues, he said, have already been dealt with by the two governments and will be discussed even more in the meeting of the joint commission set for Nov. 20 in Luanda.
Ambassador Guerra, who had previously served the mission in Gabon, was accredited to the DRC on July 6 four months after his nomination by Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos.
