Ex-warlords Germain Katanga and Mathieu Ngudjolo Chui, accused of directing an attack on a village in North-eastern Congo, begin their trial at the International Criminal Court.
About 200 people were killed in the onslaught allegedly involving the use of child soldiers and sexual abuse.
The defendants have denied the charges brought against them.
