BRISTOL —The Young Artists Series at the Bristol Historical Society will screen a new documentary about the Congo next week, and the writer/producer and the director will attend.
"HEART, The Congo Chronicles" is Jeffrey Luken Hartlage's story about his friendship with Madade TeeTee, a Congolese woman he befriended while he was flying humanitarian supply missions in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Hartlage, a professional pilot who lived in the impoverished African country for a year, wrote the documentary. It details his work to find an adoptive home in the United States for Madade TeeTee's daughter.
Hartlage and director Kenneth Lindquist Jr. will answer questions after the screening, and Lindquist will perform music from the film. The show begins Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at the historical society's headquarters at 98 Summer St. Admission is $5. More information about the documentary is at www.startattheheart.org.
