Iranian MPs Seeking to Expand Ties with Africa in Visit to Congo


TEHRAN (FNA)- A delegation of Iranian legislators who are currently in the DR Congo announced that they aim to expand Iran's ties with Africa during their visit.



"One of the important chapters of Iran's foreign policy is expansion of ties with African states, and in this regard DR Congo has an appropriate situation for strengthening cooperation and relations in different fields," Head of the Iranian delegation to Kinshasa Hamid Reza Haji Babaee said in a meeting with Congolese Parliament Speaker Evariste Boshab on Tuesday.

Describing the parliamentary relations between the two countries as effective in the development of cooperation and bilateral ties, Haji Babaee reiterated that parliamentary friendship groups have an important role in this concern.

During the meeting, Boshab called for the expansion and consolidation of ties between Tehran and Kinshasa.

As regards Iran's nuclear issue, he underlined that acquisition of the peaceful nuclear technology is an indisputable right of all nations, including Iran.
