EU reacts to Congo death sentence

The EU has joined Norway in dissociating itself from the use of the death sentence, by delivering a demarche to the Justice Department in Kinshasa. It referred to the death sentence given to two Norwegians on Tuesday.

The two have appealed the sentence, and it is hoped that the EU demarche may speed up the appeal process.
